①For liquid food, plastic bottles, glass bottles, metal cans, bags, boxes and cups made of composite materials are commonly used.

③ For powders, granules and foods mixed with liquids, metal cans, plastic jars, bags, boxes and cans made of composite materials are commonly used.

 

④ For single or multiple aggregated solid foods such as blocks, sheets, strips, and similar spherical and hemispherical shapes, larger plastic boxes, metal cans, bags, trays, boxes, etc. made of composite materials are commonly used.

 

In short, the current food sales packaging containers, bottles, cans, boxes, etc. made of metal and glass account for a small proportion, and there is a gradual downward trend, and they are mostly used for gift packaging or special packaging. Boxes and trays made of thin cardboard are generally used for outer packaging due to their poor barrier properties.

 

Only bags, boxes, cups, etc. made of plastic film-based composite materials are sufficient to protect food and beautify the appearance of unique functions, and have various shapes, easy processing, resource saving, low cost, light use, and strong adaptability. It is almost all-encompassing (usually except for gas-containing liquid materials), and it is all-purpose (extended to all occasions on land, sea and air), and has great prospects for development. In particular, the combination of the inner packaging bag and the outer packaging box can more effectively promote the wide application of small food packaging.

With the acceleration of people's daily work rhythm, the enrichment of nutritious and healthy diets, and the enhancement of environmental protection awareness, many new requirements for food and its packaging will inevitably be put forward in the future.

 

What is striking today is that in view of the rapid popularization of refrigerators and microwave ovens and the gradual maturity of other related conditions, it will not be long before the development of quick-frozen food as convenience food and fast food can enter a large number of households and enterprises and institutions (including services, industries such as tourism).

 

In the meanwhile, we must vigorously develop new technologies and new products such as vacuum packaging, vacuum inflatable packaging and aseptic packaging, so that they can be organically combined with quick-frozen packaging to jointly promote food packaging to a higher level.
